Frank R. Polifka

          Frank Richard Polifka, 79, of Hawthorn Woods, formerly of Wheeling. Died Saturday, June 1, 2013 at his home.   Born on November 30, 1933 in Chicago to Frank and Charlotte (nee Meyer).

          Visitation at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church 304 W. Palatine Road, Prospect Heights on Friday, June 7, 2013 from 111;00am until time of Service at 12:00pm.  The interment will be private. 

          Frank served in the National Guard for over 10 years.  He worked as a Field Auditor for CNA Insurance having worked there for over 30 years.  In his spare time he enjoyed cooking, landscaping and going camping.  In addition, Frank was an avid car racing fan. 

          Frank had been an active member of Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Prospect Heights for many years. His family is very thankful for his caregivers, Edmond, Abalo and Matt. 

          Survivors include his wife, Dolores (nee Wagner) whom he married on September 5, 1953. Sister, Myra (Bill) Dickens.  Children, Kenneth (Diane), Debra (Carter) Morrett, Keith (Joanne), Dawn (Timothy) Fella. Grandchildren, Garrett (Jenica), Carley, Caleb (Shanna), Marika (Jason), Hannah, Mitchell, Cameron, Ryan, Rachel, Cassidy, and Shane. Great-Grand-child, Evie.  And many nieces and nephews.

          Frank was preceded in death by his parents.

          In Lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Midwest Hospice Palliative Care or Cognitive Neurology and Alzheimer’s Disease Program at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
