Frederick Peter Kunz

A Celebration of Life service will be held for Frederick Peter Kunz, 73, of Gilberts, formerly of Palatine, on Friday, November 3, 2017, 11:00 am at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1190 North Hicks Road, Palatine, IL  60067

Fred went to be with the Lord on October 26, 2017.  He was born to Frederick V. and Susanna (nee Schlitt) Kunz on June 16, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois.

He stole the heart of his lifelong love at 16 and went on to marry Carol Hildebrandt on May 29, 1965.  They now have their favorite four legged fur baby, Taylor, four daughters, ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  Fred wore many hats through the years, from a shoe salesman, to VP at a commodities corporation, to running his successful real estate business so that he could provide a very fulfilling life for his family.

His true joy in life was time spent with family and friends.  He volunteered his time by inspiring the many people that crossed his path from mentoring, coaching, teaching and leading by example.  Fred had a gift to make people smile and never knew a stranger.

Fred is survived by his adored wife, Carol; his children, Sue Miner, Chris (Bill) Edwards, Karla Albrecht, Sherri (Bruce) Anderson; grandchildren, Carli, Fred (Teresa), Justin, John, Devin, Breezy, Brooke, Sam, Mackenzie, William; great grandchildren, Kennedy, Cadence, Case and CJ; his sister, MaryKay Vartanian; and many nieces and nephews.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Charlotte Hildebrandt.
