Gayle Sabitt

Gayle Sabitt, 61, of Hawthorn Woods, IL passed away on Monday, September 29, 2014 after a long battle with lymphoma.  A visitation in celebration of Gayle’s life will be held at 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home at 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich, IL 60047.  A Funeral Service will immediately follow.

She was born on October 4, 1952 to Stanley and Lucille Renick in Kenosha, WI.

She was married to Jeff Sabitt on September 7, 1986 at the Evanston Art Center in Evanston, IL on a sunny day.  She spread her love through her famous cooking, putting into practice her belief that “food is love.”  Gayle loved spending time outdoors walking her dog, reading the Sunday newspaper, and tending to her flowers.  She had a passion for the arts, which she passed on to her daughter, a graduate student in art history.

Gayle is survived by her husband Jeff, daughter Claire; brothers Jim (Anita) and Gary; nieces and nephews Jim (Angela), Anne Marie, Scott, Steven, Michelle and Nicolle.  She was preceded in death by her dear sister Gladys; father Stanley; and mother Lucille.
