Gene S. Sauer

Visitation for Gene Stephen Sauer, 69, of Lake Zurich since 1994, will be held Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service, 12:00 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich.  The Interment will follow in Lake Zurich Cemetery.

Beloved husband of Beulah D. Sauer (nee Tilley); loving father of Suzanne (Alan) Barnes and Laura (William) Bedgood; loving grandfather of Matthew, and Michael Barnes and William, Katelynn and Maximus Bedgood; dear son of the late Eugene and Betty (nee Roberts); fond brother of Lynda Austin.

Gene was born March 3, 1948 in Cook County, Chicago, and passed away June 1, 2017 at home.

Gene’s interests were in growing roses, serving as Vice President of the American Rose Society.  He loved to ride motorcycles and go on road trips.

He belonged to the IBEW Local Union 134 since 1973.

Gene was is U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.
