George J. Brzostowski

A Visitation for George J. Brzostowski, a longtime resident of Palatine, will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024, from 3:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. with a Celebration of Life at 7:00p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine. An Entombment will be privately held at a later date, at the Brzostowski family mausoleum in Union Cemetery, Palatine.

George was born in Des Plaines, IL, one of 11 children of the late Joseph and Helen (nee: Anda) Brzostowski. He passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024.

George is the dear brother of the late Henry (the late Estelle) Brzostowski, the late Robert (Doris), Edward (Shirley) Brzostowski and Gerald (the late Joyce) Brzostowski.  He is also survived by his nephew, Jack Bruns and numerous other nieces and nephews.

George was the owner of Palatine’s The White House Inn, which had been open since the end of Prohibition. Having lived above the bar in the residence his entire life, he retired in 2018. At the bar, George loved to hear everyone’s stories and assisted in every aspect of the operations of the establishment. Additionally, he enjoyed having and playing with dogs, the Golden Age of Hollywood movies and the stars. Along with his brothers, he regularly attended, the Kane County Flea Market to go antiquing. He also helped out with his brother’s trucking company making deliveries.

In remembrance of George, please feel free to dress casual and wear something yellow to the visitation and services as this was his favorite color.

The family would like to thank the staff of Addolorata Villa, Wheeling for their care, thoughtfulness and compassion to George.
