George D. Mooney

The Visitation for George David Mooney, 81, a resident of St. Joseph Home for the Elderly of Palatine and formerly of Chicago and the Northwest suburban area, will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm at St. Joseph Home for the Elderly, 80 W. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.  A Funeral Mass will be said, 11:00 am on Thursday also at St. Joseph Home.  A private Interment will be held at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Hillside, IL.

George was born on May 13, 1935 in Chicago, IL the son of the late George Washington and Marcella Martha (nee Bendel) Mooney and passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017.

Beloved husband of the late Lorraine “Lolly” Libman-Mooney and also preceded in death by his first wife Mary Kay Mooney; loving father of Michael (Angela), John (Sarah), David (Kerry), and the late Patrick Mooney; cherished grandfather of Daniel, Matthew, Joseph, Mary Kate, Rachel, Olivia, Helen, Fiona, Patrick, Michael, Joseph, and Thomas; beloved step father of Cheryl Gardner, Todd Libman, and the late Mark Libman, and survived by four step grandchildren; Derek, Dillon, Khristian Cole and Rory.
