George J. Yankoe

Visitation for George J. Yankoe, 79, of Lake Zurich since 1989, will be held Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich.  Prayers will begin 9:30 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2016 also at the funeral home, and proceed to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 33 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich, for a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m.  The Interment will follow in Irving Park Cemetery.  Father David Ryan will officiate.

George was born March 31, 1937 in Chicago, and he passed away April 27, 2016 in Barrington.

He was an avid sports fan, especially the Chicago Cubs, Blackhawks, Bulls and “da Bears”.

George was the beloved husband of Marlene J. (nee Obodzinski); loving father of John (Theresa) Yankoe, Georgeann Yankoe and Joann (Mark) Baumeister; loving grandfather of Luke Yankoe, Christine (Brian) Vogt, Kim Gorsuch and Mark Baumeister; loving great-grandfather of Anthony, Emma and Colin Vogt; dear son of the late George and Frances (nee Loveless) Yankoe; fond brother of Elaine (late Wayne) Holloway.
