Gerald B. Zumbrock, Sr.

Visitation for Gerald B. Zumbrock, Sr., 79, of Arlington Heights since 1967, will be Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 3:00 PM until the time of the Funeral Military Honors, 7:00 PM at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine. The Interment will be private.

Gerald “Jerry” Braddock Zumbrock was born June 11, 1939 to Harold & Olive Zumbrock in Chicago, IL. He passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 13, 2018.

Jerry’s early years were split between the Chicago area and Lac Du Flambeau, WI where the family ran a seasonal resort. He met Cheryl in 1958, married in 1962 and has 3 loving sons. Jerry was drafted into the Army in 1962 where he served as an MP and dog handler. He returned from active duty and worked as a pipe fitter many years, before retiring in 2001. Jerry was a longtime resident of Arlington Heights. He enjoyed working outside on his home, dancing and was a devoted Packer fan.

Jerry is survived by his children, Gerald B. Zumbrock, Jr., James M. Zumbrock, and Jeffrey (Mary) Zumbrock; his grandchildren, Christina, Zachary, Tyler, Danielle, Brandi, and Noelle; great-grandson, Kyler James; brothers, Robert Salenius and Larry (Nancy) Zumbrock; and his longtime companion, Phyllis VanEss.

He is preceded in death by the mother of his sons, Cheryl Lynn.
