Geronima C. Botello

Visitation for Geronima “Loma” C. Botello, 88, of Palatine, will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Prayers will be said on Monday, October 28, 2024, at 9:15 AM at the funeral home and process to Mision San Juan Diego Catholic Church, 2323 N. Wilke Road, Arlington Heights, IL for the Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. The Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.

Loma was born January 13, 1936, to Rosalio and Lorenza Castillo. She passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.

Loma answered God's plans in the northwest suburbs to Immigrant people. When the word was given to people to help pay for Santa Teresita Church Debt, she answered, trusted God and help pay them and continued on to help in his plans. Only a few people left of the Pioneer Families of Santa Teresita and now Mision San Juan Diego Parish.

She will be remembered for her great cheerful laugh, making tamales and selling tickets and making menudo for dances. Loma always cheered on and gave her blessing to others.

Loma was the beloved wife of the late, Louis Botello; loving mother of Maria (Michael) Goins, Louis Botello, Nancy (Refugio) Roman, Patricia Botello, Shary Botello, Frank Botello, Fina Oceguera, Cathy (Hilario) Aguirre, and David (Silvia) Castillo; cherished grandmother of Nidia, Finna, Leo Jr., Hilario, Tonya, Michelle, Abraham, Vanessa, David Jr, Astrid, Aubrie, Xavier, Benjamin, David, Theresa, Adrianna, Daisy, Luke and Noelle. She is also survived by siblings and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Connie Botello.
