Giacomo “Rino” Compiani

Visitation for Giacomo “Rino” Compiani, 90, a resident of Palatine since 1988, will be held today, Thursday, September 4, 2014 from 3:00PM until 8:00PM at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.  Services will begin with prayers at 9:00AM on Friday, September 5, 2014, proceeding to St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church, 1201 E. Anderson Drive, Palatine, for the Funeral Mass at 9:30AM.  An Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.

Rino was born on July 13, 1924 in Cremona, Italy the son of the late Pasquale and Maria Eugenia (nee: Sbravati) Compiani and passed away at his home with his family at his bedside on Wednesday, September 3, 2014.

Prior to the retirement of Rino he had worked for 57 years as a plumber with Chicago Journeyman’s Local Union #130.

Rino was the beloved husband of 66 years of Erma (nee: Giovannelli) Compiani; loving father of Maria Compiani, James (Lori) Compiani, Lisa (Edward Wilkins) Compiani and his special daughter Renee Brand; cherished grandfather of Scott (Fiancée Nicole Seidel) and Steven Compiani; great grandfather of Tyler Compiani; 2 brothers in Italy also survive Valentino and Fausto (Tina) Compiani.  Most important in Giacomo’s life was the love he shared for his family and friends.  He was even like a father to his many nieces and nephews and helped to raise them.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Giacomo, would be appreciated for Midwest Palliative and Hospice Care Center, 2050 Claire Court, Glenview, IL 60025
