Glen A. Gullikson

Funeral Services for Glen A. Gullikson, 77, of Kildeer, will be privately held.

Glen is survived by his daughter, Lauren (Nin) Assi; and grandchildren, Alexis and Luke Assi; sister, Gail (David) Blankenship; as well as several nieces and their families.

He was preceded by brothers, Mark Gullikson, and Curt Gullikson.

Out of high school, Glen spent 2 years at the FBI in Washington DC in a clerical capacity. He came back to Illinois to complete his political science undergrad at Illinois State. He was drafted to the Army and assigned to duty in Germany. While there, he completed his masters from USC. Upon return, he earned his education specialist and proceeded to teach middle school followed by a program coordinator at 3 publishers over the years.

He spent 15 years at ACT as a director, with a concentration of secondary and elementary programs, and was responsible for the southwest region while being based out of Austin, Texas.

His volunteer work included time on the Fox River Grove Board of Education, founding secretary of Peace Lutheran Church in Lake Zurich Illinois and Board of Directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters, Iowa City chapter.
