Glenn H. Olson

A Celebration of Life for Glenn Howard Olson, 94, of Palatine, will be held on Monday, June 13, 2022 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine. The Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 pm at First United Methodist Church of Palatine 123 N. Plum Grove Road, Palatine. The Interment will be held at Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.

Glenn was born on July 25, 1927 to Howard and Una Olson in Elroy, Wisconsin. A longtime Palatine resident, Glenn and Zena, his wife of 72 years, were active members of the First United Methodist Church, Red Cardinals and Questers.

Glenn worked for the United States Postal Service for 41 years, of which 10 years he was the Postmaster of Dundee, Illinois.

Glenn is survived by his loving children, Lucinda Syoen (Alex), Steven Olson (Marlene), James Olson (Marge Thiel) and Barbara Olson (Bruce Longhenry); Grandchildren, Jessica (Josh), Kate, Travis, Erin (Andrew) and Lucas (Valerie). Great Grandchildren, Anya, Elijah, Charlee, Landon, Zena, Blaize and Maddox.

Glenn enjoyed old cars, antique collecting and refinishing, wood carving, bowling, camping and traveling internationally and domestically. His life was devoted to family and friends. He lived his life with kindness and generosity.
