Gloria J. Fitzgerald

Visitation for Gloria J. Fitzgerald, 90, a resident of Palatine since 1954, will be held on Friday, June 5, 2015 from 3:00PM until 8:00PM at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.  Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2015, 11:00AM also at the funeral home.  The Interment will be private.

Gloria was born on April, 14, 1925 in Chicago, IL the daughter of the late Paul C. and Alice (nee Murray) Barrer and passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2015.

Gloria was blessed to have friendships that she has continued for more than 85 years. She still maintained connection with several friends with whom she had attended kindergarten.  Prior to Gloria retiring, more than 20 years ago, she had been employed by Township High School District 211 where she had worked as a library clerk at William Fremd High School in Palatine.

Beloved wife of the late William Francis Fitzgerald, loving mother of Beverly Fitzgerald and Thomas (Carolyn) Fitzgerald; cherished grandmother of Kara Fitzgerald; dear sister of the late Alyce Siebold; fond aunt of Dennis (Susan) Siebold and Judy (Carl) Thatcher-Oldberg.

In lieu of flowers, memorials, in memory of Gloria, would be appreciated for the Orphans of the Storm Animal Shelter, 2200 Riverwoods Road, Riverwoods, IL 60015 or Midwest Palliative and Hospice Care, 2050 Claire Court, Glenview, IL 60025.
