Harry W. Sherman

A Memorial Visitation for Harry W. Sherman, 89, of Palatine, will be from 11:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Services, 12 Noon on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy, Palatine. The Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.

Harry was born on July 25, 1929 to Harry and Elizabeth Sherman. He passed away at home on Tuesday, November 27, 2018.

Harry was the loving husband of the late Maureen Sherman for 67 years. He is survived by his children, Kate (Chad) Hawley, Rick (Jackie) Sherman, and Steve (Beth) Sherman; grandchildren, Alex, Chase, Kellen, Mae, and Kyle; and his sister, Jane (the late Edward) Michon.
He was preceded in death by his son Jon Sherman; and his daughter-in-law, Cathy Sherman.

Harry worked as chemical engineer, holding several patents during the course of his long and successful career. In his retirement, he engaged in his passions – gardening, enhancing his home, and spending time with his family. His love for his wife was most apparent when he sat by her side during her last few months of life. He lasted just 13 days without her.
