Harvey F. Moravec

Visitation for Harvey F. Moravec, 77, of Crystal Lake for 34 years, will be held from 3:00 until 9:00 p.m., Monday at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.  Funeral Services for will be held, Tuesday, September 16, 2014, 11:00 a.m. also at the funeral home.  The Interment will follow in Windridge Cemetery, Cary, IL.

Harvey was born October 2, 1936, in Chicago, and he passed away at home Saturday, September 13, 2014.

He was a master plumber and was a member of the Chicago Plumber’s Union Local # 130.  For many years he worked on the magnificent mile and helped build many high rise buildings.  Throughout his career, he worked for Schuepfer Plumbing, did independent construction with Quinco Corporation, and worked for Corboy Plumbing and Ryan Plumbing.  He also did honorary work at the naval base in Glenview, and was given an award for that.  Harvey was also an avid Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago Cub’s fan.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon F. Moravec (nee Lemke); children, David Moravec, Kimberly (Mark) Severson and Matthew (Emily) Moravec; Grandchildren, Michael, Jonathan & Lauren Severson; step-grandchildren, Ashley Sargus and Ryan, James & Nancy Vegetabile; brother, George (late Gloria) Moravec.

Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, George and Elizabeth (nee Fredrickson) Moravec and his sister, Dolores Peters.
