Herman Philippe

Visitation for Herman Philippe, 91, of Ladd, IL, former longtime resident of Palatine, will be held Tuesday, January 9, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service, 12:00 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine.  An Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights.

Herman was born February 10, 1926 in Taylorville, IL, and passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018 in Henry, Illinois.

Beloved husband of Connie M. (nee James) Philippe and the late Margaret A. Philippe (nee Wangen); loving father of William (Dianne) Philippe, Robert (Shelley) Philippe and Michael (Patti) Philippe, and the late Deborah Philippe and the late Judith McGlothin Castillo; loving Grandfather of William Jr., April, Jeffrey (Katie), Matthew, Joshua, Dylan, Kelsey and the late Dale; loving great-grandfather of Skylar and Levon; dear son of the late Gildo and Catherine (nee Nata) Philippe; fond brother of the late, John, Pete and Al.

Herman was a U.S. Veteran of the Coast Guard and Merchant Marine.  After the Merchant Marines he had a long career as a heavy equipment operator with Union local 150.  He was an avid Gardener and grew huge vegetables.  Most of all, he will be remembered as a kind hard working person.
