Herman Thies Jr.

Graveside Services and Interment with military honors for Herman Thies Jr., 83, of Mt. Prospect and Arlington Heights, will be held Thursday, October 30, 2014, 10:00 a.m. at St. John Cemetery, on Euclid Avenue, (North side of Euclid, one mile west of Rand Road) in Arlington Heights.

Herman was born November 3, 1930 in Mt. Prospect, and he passed away Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Alden of Long Grove.

Herman was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran, and he received 3 bronze battle stars for bravery.  He also was an avid golfer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Wilhelmina (nee Schroeder) Thies Sr. and his sisters, Elvira Duenn and Viola Douglas.
