Jacqueline A. Burrus

Jacqueline A. (nee Powers) Burrus, 91, a resident of Friendship Village in Schaumburg formerly of Palatine.

The visitation for Jacqueline A. Burrus will be held on Tuesday, February 10^th, 2015 from 3:00PM until 8:00PM at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.  Services will begin with prayers at 9:30AM on Wednesday, February 11^th, 2015 at the funeral home processing to St. Theresa Catholic Church, 455 N. Benton Street, Palatine for the funeral Mass at 10:00AM.  Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.

Jacqueline was born on December 17, 1923 in Chicago, IL the daughter of the late John J. and Margaret (nee Naughton) Powers and passed away early on Saturday morning February 7, 2015.

Jacquline was member of St. Theresa Catholic Church and had served on the St. Theresa Parish Council. She was also a longtime volunteer at St. Joseph Home for the Elderly in Palatine.

Beloved wife of the late Robert L. Burrus, loving mother of Robert J. (Kathy) Burrus, Mary C Nalker., Paul R. (Jan), Joanne (late James Rieser) and Peter D. Burrus, Aimee (Peter) Brunlieb and the late Christopher H, and Vincent M. Burrus; cherished grandmother of 10; great grandmother of 3; dear sister of Adelaide Powers and preceded in death by her brothers John “Jack” and Robert Powers and sisters Ethel Hoehne, Joan Baldwin, Zita Coleburn and Margaret Kelly. Also survived by her former daughter’s in law Georgia Karras and Wendy (Vince) Smiley and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Jacqueline would be appreciated for the American Heart Association, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL  60674.
