Janet J. (Bryk) Stanish

Visitation for Janet J. Stanish (nee Mitchell), 58, of Lake Zurich will be from 3:00pm until 9:00pm on Thursday, July 18, 2013 with a Memorial Service at 7:00pm at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.  Prayers will be said on Friday, July 19, 2013 at 10:00am also at the funeral home proceeding to Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church, 1449 N. Quentin Road, Palatine for a Mass at 10:30AM.  Interment will be private.

She was born in Chicago on Jan. 5, 1955 and passed away peacefully on Monday, July 15, 2013 surrounded by her family after a courageous 2 ½ year battle with lung cancer.

Janet is an active member of the Lake Zurich Lions Club and was always willing to lend a hand.  She enjoyed 36+ years with ComEd, retiring in 2009.  Jan will be remembered for her creativity, cooking, energy and passion for giving to others with sincerity and love.

She was the beloved wife of Mike; mother of Michele Bryk; step-mother of Natalie Stanish and Katie Stanish; daughter of Janet and the late Dr. Ralph Z. Mitchell, loving sister of Noreen (Dennis) Danadio and Diane Mitchell; loving aunt of Mike (Tracey) Danadio and Nicole Danadio; great aunt of Adele Eleanor Danadio; and also survived by her loving companion Buffy.
