Janet M. Hill

A memorial gathering for Janet Marie Hill, of Cary, will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, January 22, 2023, at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine.

Janet was born July 2, 1961, in Chicagoland, the daughter of Jane M. Hill (nee Mateja) and the late Royce W. Hill, she passed away peacefully in her home on January 9, 2023, at the age of 61.

Janet grew up on Stephen Drive in Palatine and worked in the restaurant industry and also the family business, Hillits Interiors. From there, she moved to Cary and worked for Marquardt Buick in Barrington, where her knack for customer service was greatly admired.

Survivors include her mother, Jane M. Hill; sister, Pam (Thayer) Davis; brother, Duane (Donna) Hill; aunt Gigi to Andrea (Kevin) Miskewicz, Kate (Bene) Alqas, Krystle (Alex) VanSchoyck, Blake, Jacob and Nathan Hill; great-grandniece, Dylan Mary Miskewicz; great-grandnephew, Noah Boyd.

She was preceded in death by her father, Royce W. Hill; and brother, Roger Hill.

She will be remembered not only for her Christmas cookies and Easter cake lambs, but for her loud, infectious laugh. She loved singing, driving with the windows down, and spending time with her family; but her favorite pastime was cooking for everyone she loved. Memories of her delicious meals for family parties and dinners will be treasured forever. She will be greatly missed.
