Janny Mallek

Visitation for Janny “Busia” Mallek (nee Golka), 98, of Palatine, will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023, from 3:00pm until 8:00pm, with a 4:00pm Rosary Service, at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine, IL. Prayers will be said on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 11:30am, also at the funeral home, with a Funeral Mass to follow at 12:00pm at St. Joseph’s Home for the Elderly, 80 W. Northwest Highway, Palatine, IL. An Interment will follow at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery, Niles.

The heavenly gates opened on January 28th to welcome our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Janny (Busia) Mallek was born on August 31, 1924, in Taylor, PA. Lived in Chicago, Des Plaines, Bensenville and Palatine. Beloved wife of the late Frank G. Mallek; loving mother of the late Eugenie (Lawrence) Burnette, William (Debra Berth), Nikki (late Bob) Morris, Francesca (Brian) Bergen, Michelle (Tim) Dunlavy, Chet (Marcia Nelson), Frank (Francesca Little), Renee (Daniel) Halpin, Ed (Janel); adoring grandmother to 26 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; dear daughter of the late Eugenia (nee Krol) and Frank Golka; fond sister to her late 4 sisters and 3 brothers.

Janny was active in her parish communities at both St. Helen’s of Chicago and St. Zachary’s of Des Plaines. She loved watching sports and spending time with her family.
