Jerome Malpede

Graveside Services for Jerome (Jerry) Malpede, 85, of Arlington Heights since 1988, formerly of Des Plaines, will be held Thursday, June 15, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, 3100 N. Thatcher Avenue, River Grove (Belmont and Cumberland Avenues).

Jerry was born on February 5, 1938, in Chicago, and he passed June 11, 2023, in Arlington Heights.

Jerry was the beloved husband of Lawanna (Judy) Malpede (nee: Vaughn); dear son of the late William and Mildred (nee Putz); fond brother of William.

Jerry graduated from Austin High School in 1955.  He became a United States’ Marine in 1956 until 1962.  Jerry received many technical certifications during his time with the military which prepared him to become a business owner traveling the world.

His favorite vacations were in Las Vegas with his wife; to have fun in the casino, as well as seeing Elvis, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin live.

Jerry enjoyed lifetime friendships that lasted over 60 years.  A massive Cubs fan, he enjoyed many winters in Mesa, AZ watching his team in spring training. He loved the Bears just as much.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be appreciated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
