Joan Blackburn

Joan Blackburn (nee Krafft), 84, died Saturday, August 24, 2013, at Journeycare Hospice House (formerly Hospice Foundation of Northeastern Illinois) in Barrington, Illinois.  A Memorial Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich.

Joan was the loving strength of her family.  That love will be with her family in the difficult weeks ahead and bolster them for years to come.  Her family and friends can now smile with her, remembering the good times, the laughs, and the great love.

She was born May 5, 1929, to Emil and Eleonore Krafft in Louisville, Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Blackburn, who died July 13, 1991.

Joan is survived by her loving children, Briggs (Melanie) Blackburn, Alison Blackburn, and Kris (Jeffrey) Ryan; grandchildren, Audra (Kellen) Horney and Stacy (Craig) Zwolak; her sister, Eloise Anderson; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jackie Krafft.
