Joanne M. Pfleger

A Memorial Visitation for Joanne M. Pfleger, 78, of Tucson, AZ, formerly of Palatine, IL, will be held Saturday, June 14, 2014 from 1:00pm until the time of the Memorial Service, 2:00pm at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.  Deacon Tom Dunne will officiate. Interment will be private.Joanne was born November 1, 1935 in Chicago, and she passed away May 8, 2014 in Tucson, AZ.

Joanne retired from Pepsi-Cola General Bottlers as a long-time Administrative Assistant before settling in the Tucson area in 2006. She liked to walk, read, and work on cross stitchery projects. She had devoted her life to volunteering. The most noteworthy of her causes was Public Action to Deliver Shelter (PADS), whose primary goal is providing temporary shelter and meals to the homeless.  She was also a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) who protects the rights of children of abuse.

Joanne was the loving mother of Christine Pfleger, Vickie (Mark) Price, Jeffrey (Gregg Sheppelman) Pfleger; loving grandmother of Michael Gehr; fond sister of Stanley Zak, Lawrence Zak and the late Constance Becker.
