A Funeral Service for JoAnne Wadsley Brown, 93, of Rolling Meadows, will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church of Palatine 123 N Plum Grove Rd, Palatine IL 60067. The Interment will take place in Early Iowa.

JoAnne passed away on August 5, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband Dean, sister Marvel Smith and parents Floyd and Doris Wadsley.

She will be missed by her daughters and sons in law, Pete and Debbie Hernandez of Hoffman Estates, IL and Sammy and Dulcie Ariail of Clarkesville GA; grandchildren Nicole Goldberg (Ari) of Larkspur, CO, Jeron Hernandez (Megan) of Algonquin, IL, Melissa Ariail of Clarkesville, GA , Emily Jo Ariail of Winder, GA; and 7 great grandchildren who lovingly called her Gigi.

JoAnne was born in Early, IA graduated from Early HS and attended Wayne State College in Nebraska.  She taught second grade in Odebolt where she met her husband Dean.  She lived in Sac City, IA, Ames, IA, and Lincoln, NE before moving to the Chicago area in 1964.

She was blessed to have celebrated 70 years of marriage before Dean’s passing.  Together they enjoyed traveling and spending the winters in Palm Desert, CA.  JoAnne volunteered most of her life, serving at her church, several hospitals and as a reading coach.  Those that crossed paths with her were always uplifted by her kindness.
