John B. Zelgart

Funeral Services and Entombment for John Bergren Zelgart, 96, of Arlington Heights, formerly of Palatine, will be private.

John passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022, surrounded by his family.

John was born April 8, 1926 in Clarkfield, Minnesota.  He attended Clarkfield High School where he met the love of his life, Dorothy.  He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a radio operator.  He attended Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota and had a successful career with 3M Company for 41 years.

John was the beloved husband for 70 years of the late Dorothy J. Zelgart (nee Holtan); loving father of Jane (John) Evans, Kay (Craig) Chisholm and David (Sue) Zelgart; proud grampy of Tyler Zelgart, Karly (Kevin) Kohlstedt, Eric Evans, Ryan Zelgart, Scott (Courtney) Evans, Julia (Mitch) McGilliard and Kyle Chisholm; great-grampy of  Charlotte, Hudson, Avery and Maeve; devoted son of the late Henry John and Lillian Zelgart (nee Bergren) Zelgart; fond brother of  Joan (late Richard) Anderson.
