John F. “Jack” Hogan

Visitation for John F. “Jack” Hogan, 86, of Palatine, will be held Sunday, February 26, 2017, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.  Prayers will be said on Monday, February 27, 2017, 9:30 a.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, Palatine, and proceeding to St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 1201 E. Anderson Drive, Palatine, for the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m.  The Inurnment will be private at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.

Jack was born on August 6, 1930 to John and Mabel Hogan.  He passed away Tuesday February 21, 2017 at the Alexian Brothers Hospice House in Elk Grove Village, surrounded by his family.

Jack was the loving husband of the late Rosemary of 64 years, they were married in LaGrange, Illinois, on June 14, 1952 and together they were blessed with six children; sons, Mark (Mary) of Bartlett, John (Valerie) of Dundee; daughters, Cathleen (Mike) Weidner of Fort Worth, TX, Colleen (John) Marlewski of Oxford, WI; he is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Casey, April, Michael, Jamie, Aiden, Mya and Lauren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon (Bruce) Danielson and sister-in-law Dorothy (Bob) Bedessem.

Jack was a physical education teacher at Winston Park Jr. High School in Palatine for 26 years before retiring to Florida.

In addition to his wife and parents, Jack is preceded in death by his son, Michael; daughter, Nancy and several extended family members.
