John F. Matthew

Visitation for John F. Matthew, 90, a longtime resident of Palatine, will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.  The Visitation will continue from 9:30AM until the time of the Funeral Mass, 10:30AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2515 Palatine Road, Inverness, on Wednesday, October 7, 2015.  The Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.

John was born on June 4, 1925 in Lawrence, MA the son of the late John C. and Hyacinth (nee Albers) Matthew and passed away on Saturday evening October 3, 2015.

John was a U.S. WWII Naval Veteran.

Beloved husband of the late Mary (nee Freeman) Matthew; loving father of John (Karen) Matthew, Maureen O’Connell, Sheila Wales, Mary Ann (Gerald) Wille, Carolyn Matthew and  Janet (Greg) Selby; cherished grandfather of 13, great grandfather of  9; dear brother of Christian Matthew; also survived by many nieces and nephews; preceded in death by his brother James Matthew.
