John H. Murray

Visitation for John H. Murray, Sgt. USMC retired, 72, of Lake Zurich, will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich.  The Interment and Funeral Services will be held on Friday, 1:00 pm at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 27034 S. Diagonal Road, Elwood, IL.

He was born on July 28, 1944 in Glasgow, Scotland and passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017.

John was a highly decorated Vietnam Marine Corps Veteran, a member of The Marine Corps League and a past president of the Lake Zurich Police Pension Board and an avid sportsman.

He was the beloved husband of Sue; father of Michael (Monica) and Nicole (Rick) Fox; grandfather of Mackenzie, Tristan, Delaney, Collin and Caelie; brother of late Denise Bowskill; son of the late Donald Murray and the late Christina Bowskill; and stepson of Robert Bowskill.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to The Marine Corps Heritage Foundation, 3800 Fettler Park Dr., S-104, Dumfries, VA 22025, in memory of John H. Murray.
