John L. Post

The Memorial Visitation for John L. Post, 84, a resident of Palatine since 1971, will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2014 from 9:00AM until the time of the Memorial Mass, 10:00AM at St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church, 1201 E. Anderson Drive, Palatine.  The Interment will be private.

John was born on April 25, 1930 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of the late John W. and Margaret A (nee Kiley) Post and passed away early in the morning on Tuesday, December 23, 2014.

Upon graduation from high school John joined the U.S. Navy and served from 1951 until 1955. He then attended and graduated from the University of Dayton where he received his degree in electrical engineering.  John went on to work for the Federal Aviation Administration retiring after 31 years.  John was a member of St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church where he served as an usher and some hobbies he enjoyed were music and golf

John is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years Margaret (nee Habermehl) Post; his loving children Leo (Michelle Myers) and Richard (Barbara) Post and Judy (Cliff) Ortmeyer; cherished grandchildren Jessica, Natalie, Charlotte and Matthew Post, Maggie and Samantha Ortmeyer; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends and preceded in death by two sisters Margaret O’Grady Trombetti and Patricia Fiorucci.
