John P. Gilbert

Visitation for John P. Gilbert, 58, of Palatine, will be held Monday, February, 23, 2015 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine.  Prayers will begin Tuesday, February 24, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, Palatine, and then proceed to St. Theresa Catholic Church 455 N. Benton St., Palatine, for a Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m.; with private family Interment, Wednesday, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Hillside, IL.

Born February 14, 1957, in Oak Park, IL, and he passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at home in Palatine surrounded by his family.

John was a 37 year member of the Theatrical Stage Employees Union Local # 2.

Survivors include his brothers and sisters, Thomas (Debra) Gilbert, Dennis Gilbert, Mary (Robert) Bieschke, Suzanne (Thomas) Sturgulewski; nieces and nephew, Stefanie (Jason) Combs, Lauren and Tyler Sturgulewski; and great-nephew, Tristan Combs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Catherine (nee Hart) Gilbert; and his brother Michael J. Gilbert.
