John R. Guthrie

Visitation for John R. Guthrie, 36, of Palatine, will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine. A Funeral Mass will be said at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 33 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich. The Interment will be held privately at a later date.

John passed away unexpectedly January 10, 2022. He was born January 16, 1985.

John survived by his Son Vinny Guthrie; Mother Nancy Remington (Brad); Siblings Kelli Donohue (Abe), Riley Remington (Samantha), Rachel Remington (Kornelijus); Nieces and nephews Gavin Donohue, Mia Moctezuma, Ty Donohue, Viktorija Saduskas; Grandfather Stanley Jasek; Many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

 He is preceded in death by his father John S. Guthrie; Grandmothers, Betty Guthrie and Geraldine Jasek.

John was raised in Palatine, IL by his parents John and Nancy. John was a devoted father, loving son, brother, cousin, friend, and boyfriend. John loved spending time with his son Vinny, who was his whole world. John was always being silly to make people laugh, he was a comedian at family events and kept the kids entertained. John enjoyed ATV riding, golfing, and relaxing at the lake. John was a kind caring and loving person. John will be missed by his family and friends.
