Josephine V. Anderson

Visitation for Josephine V. Anderson (nee Romazko), 84, of Long Grove, will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2023, from 4:00 until 8:00 pm at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich. A Funeral Mass will be said on Friday, August 11, 2023, 10:00 am at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 33 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich. An Entombment will follow at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery, Niles.

Josephine, who went by her nickname, “Jo”; grew up in Chicago where she met her husband, Bob. After living in Niles for the first 10 years of their marriage, they moved to Deer Park where they raised their 5 children. Jo had many jobs and passions over the years. She worked for the FBI, was a Manager at Sears, the lunch lady at St Francis de Sales School in Lake Zurich, and finally retired from Cahners Publishing.

Jo’s hobbies included, volunteering, bargain shopping, “putzing” around the yard, and spending time with family and friends. Jo had many passions, including her faith and devout work with the Ministry of Care at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, which included 14 grandchildren.

Josephine is survived by her children, Steven (Debi) Anderson, Linda (Robert) Cook, Leslie (Cris Challender) Anderson, Scott (Melissa) Anderson, and Jeff (Michelle) Anderson; grandchildren, Jennifer, Emily, Sarah, Ryan, Sam, Erik, Corey, Tegan, Tyler, Jordan (Kevin) Fernandes, Taylor, Reilly, McKenzie, and Bradyn; and siblings, Mary Dellamano and Mike Romazko.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Anderson; parents, Joseph and Violet Romazko; sister-in-law, Karen Romazko; and son-in-law, Robert Cook.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be appreciated in Josephine’s memory, to the American Stroke Foundation.
