Visitation for June Margaret (Bryant) Hansen , 88, will be held on Sunday, December 2, 2018 from 3:00 PM until the time of the Funeral Service, 7:00 PM, at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine. The Interment will be private.

It is with the greatest sadness that the family of June, announce her passing on Friday, November 23, 2018.

June was born in a small town called Tullibigeal in NSW Australia to Charles and Annie Bryant. Sister to the late Marjorie Donaldson (Edgar), the late Yvonne Whitaker (Robert), Valda Nelson (Sam), the late Barry Bryant (Janice). She lived on a farm in her early years until the family moved closer to Sydney. In her late teen years, she worked as a portrait colorist/artist and model in a studio in Sydney.

In 1952, she met her husband, Andrew C. Hansen, Jr., an American Chemical Engineer in the oil industry. They married the same year, travelled and lived in the UK and parts of Europe, as work called for, and began a family of their own in Scotland and England. Andrew C. Hansen (the late Judyth) was born in Scotland. Laura J. Chausse (the late Alan), Marta I. Hulseberg (Carl), Sonia K. Prescott (the late David), Christine M. Kral (William) were all born in England. June and Andy moved with their family to the US into the Chicago area and settled in Palatine in 1963, where Teresa D. Voltz (Thomas) and Peter C. Hansen (Alexis) were born.

June had 15 grandchildren: Charles Rabb, Jonathan Hansen, Kurt Hulseberg, Matthew Hulseberg, Brittany Gremal, Tiffany Balderas, David Prescott, Justin Prescott, Derek Kral, Ryan Kral, Brandon Kral, Amanda Discipio, Amber Voltz, Thomas Voltz, and Jonathan Robinson. She also had 7 great-grandchildren and one more on the way. She also leaves behind her furry children: her dogs Tully, Trooper, Jericho; and her cat Aussie.

Amidst the travel and the business of raising a big family, June became a porcelain artist, loved animals and raised many cats and dogs. She gave freely, enjoyed dancing, discussing current events, had a great sense of humor, and was a great listener to those who needed advice and a patient ear. She took in many strays over the years– both pets and humans.

June had always been independent until she contracted a rare eye disease without a cure that caused a great degree of blindness in both of her eyes. She also struggled through and beat two bouts of cancer. She was a fighter, she was kind, she was wise, she was unique, and she was a proud Aussie. June will be missed.
