June R. Kastning

Visitation for June Rose Kastning (nee Forkart), 90, of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, formerly of Palatine, will be held Monday, April 26, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine.  An Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights, Illinois.

June was born September 30, 1930 in Palatine, Illinois and passed away April 19, 2021 in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin.

June was the beloved wife of the late Robert Kastning; loving mother of John (Janice) Kastning and Judy (Keith) Hoeck; loving grandmother of Justin Kastning, Sarah Hoeck, Rebecca Hoeck, and Rachel Hoeck; dear daughter of the late Herman and Elsie (Nee Eissler) Forkart; fond sister of Dorothy Schmidt.

June went to Ela Vernon High School in Lake Zurich, IL and graduated in 1948. June met the love of her life, Robert Kastning, at a carnival, whom she married on January 27, 1951.  They were married for 59 years.

June was a telephone operator for many years when her children were young.  June lived with her family in Palatine, Illinois until 1999.  June also lived in Huntley and Crystal Lake, Illinois and the Wisconsin Dells.  June enjoyed square dancing and going to the card club with her beloved husband, Robert.  June enjoyed vacations with her family to Florida, Wisconsin Dells and Arizona.  June’s interests were crocheting baby blankets, playing card games, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.  June showered everyone with gifts of love and will be missed immensely.
