Katharine Hertog

A Celebration of Life will be held for Katharina “Katie” Hertog, 88, of Crystal Lake, formerly of Palatine, on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine.  A Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. The Interment will be private.

Katie was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on February 15, 1930, to Fritz and Anna Fey.  She passed away on May 4, 2018.

Katie was the beloved wife of the late Herman M. Hertog. She is survived by her children, Herman (Mary Kay) Hertog, Paul Hertog, David Hertog, Thomas Hertog, and Karen (Glen) Burlingame. She was the beloved grandmother of Kaysie and Gabbie Burlingame and Grace and Grant Hertog.

Katie dedicated her life to mothering her five children.  She was involved in many groups at her church in Palatine.  Whether it was making pillows for cancer patients or teddy bears for children in the hospital, she took pleasure in helping others.  She enjoyed watching Chicago sports teams-all of them, working outside in her flower gardens and spending quality time with her family. She took pride in being a Teller at Harris Bank for 16 years in Palatine.
