Kathleen Bloomquist

A Memorial Visitation for Kathleen Bloomquist , 77, of Palatine, will be held on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway , Palatine, from 4:00 pm until 7:00pm. The Inurnment will be held privately.

Kathleen was born in Chicago, IL on September 28, 1943 and passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 18, 2021 at home. She taught first grade for 26 years in District 29 where she was overjoyed to teach children to read. She finished her career at Quest Academy in Palatine as the Assistant Head of Schools working with gifted children. She loved to read and travel the world. She happily filled up her passport but her heart was in Door County, Wisconsin.

She is survived by her children Courtney (Andy Gallagher) Gregory and Paul (Sue) Bloomquist III; Grandchildren Aidan, Delaney, Megan and Pauly IV; Sister Kim Kuyk; Cousin Doug Benson and beloved dog, Piper.

Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Violet Larson and Aunt June (Edward) Matha.
