A Memorial Visitation for Kathy M. Helgesen-Heffernan, 63, of Island Lake, will be held Saturday, March 25, 2023, from 12:00 pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine. The Interment will be private.

Kathy was born October 23, 1959, in Elgin and passed away March 17, 2023, at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington.

Kathy was the beloved partner of Richard A. Vesneske; loving mother of the late Kassie Heffernan; dear daughter of the late Howard B. and Joan Marie (nee Felske) Helgesen; and fond sister of Howard R.W. (late Debbie Lutz) Helgesen.

Kathy worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 40 years in Island Lake, Barrington and Northbrook.  Kathy liked horses and ponies and had 2 named Willie and Mac.  Most of all, Kathy’s family was everything to her and she will be sorely missed.  She was a loving mother, sister and partner.
