Kathy V. Vlahos

Visitation for Kathy V. Vlahos (nee Chronis), 81, will be held on Wednesday May 25, 2022 from 10:00a.m. until the time of the Funeral Services at 11:00a.m. at St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church, 133 S. Roselle Rd., Palatine. The Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Barrington.

Kathy “Katina” Vlahos was born on December 27, 1940 in Pylos, Greece and passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 20, 2022. In 1955 she immigrated to the United States settling in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.  On January 29, 1961 she was united in marriage with her beloved husband Victor. Kathy and her husband resided in Chicago before moving to Lake Zurich, Il.

Kathy was one of the kindest people you could ever meet, she opened her heart and home to many over the years. Kathy enjoyed traveling back to her homeland of Greece, gardening, baking, and was an active member at St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church.  Most important to her was time spent with family and loved ones.

Kathy is survived by her Children Helen Cox and Nick (Eleni) Vlahos. Her Grandchildren which were the Light of her Life, Kyle Cox, Nicole Cox, Joseph Cox, Katerina Vlahos, Anna Vlahos, and Sophia Vlahos.  Her Great Grandchildren Natallia Cox and Hudson Cox. She is further survived by numerous brothers and sister in-laws, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Kathy is proceeded in death by her husband, Victor; son, Harry Vlahos; son in law, Darren Cox; brothers, Steve (Christina) Chronis and Harry Chronis; parents, Nick and Helen Chronis; mother-in-law and father in law, Harry and Maria Vlahos; and niece, Nicole Chronis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be appreciated to St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church or Alzheimer’s Association if you wish.
