Visitation for Kimiko N. Plackmann, 93, of Palatine, will be held Saturday, November 6, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 5:00 p.m., at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Kimiko was born June 11, 1928 in Yokohama, Japan, and she peacefully passed away, Saturday, October 23, 2021 at her son’s home in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, surrounded by her family.
Married in Du Harve, France in 1968 and after living abroad in various countries, Kimiko emigrated to the United States from Japan in 1971 with her husband, Daniel, finally settling in Palatine, Illinois. She was a homemaker and later worked as a bookkeeper at Kato USA from the mid-eighties until her retirement in 2000.
She was the beloved wife of the late Daniel Plackmann of 47 years, loving mother of George (Aretha) and John (Sayaka) Plackmann; loving grandmother of Emi, Kent and Kai Plackmann; dear daughter of the late Yohji Aoyagi and Kohina (nee Nakano); fond sisters of Sachiko and the late Tokie, and the late brothers of Hideyo and Yoshiro.
