Laurance D. Benedict

Visitation for Larry Benedict, 60, of Lake Zurich since 1986, will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 3:00pm until 9:00pm at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Rd, Lake Zurich. Mass will be said at 10:30am on Friday, December 6, 2013 at St. Francis de Sales Church, 33 S. Buesching Rd, Lake Zurich.  An Interment will follow at All Saints Catholic Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL.

Larry was born on March 10, 1953 in Evanston, IL the son of the late Neil and Marian Benedict and passed away on Friday, November 29, 2013.

Loving husband of 27 years of Christine (nee Wojewoda) Benedict; loving father of Cordelia (Benedict) Grimes and Stephanie Benedict, father-in-law to Jonathan Grimes; loving brother to Mellissa, Robert, Margaret, William, John, Marie, Ellen, Irene, Katherine, Charles; brother-in-law to Carl Wojewoda; survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Larry worked at Ajax Tool Works Inc. since 1975 and was promoted to Manager of Information Systems in 1980. He later became a trusted and loyal member of the board of directors in 1990.

Larry held office in the Lake County Astronomical Society and was an active member for many years. His interests spanned from photography, to astronomy, to the geological sciences.

In lieu of flowers, memorials, in memory of Larry, would be appreciated for the Lake County Astronomical Society.
