Laurie C. Guth

Visitation for Laurie C. Guth (née Papendick), 93, of Lake Zurich, will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 1:00 PM on Monday, October 28, 2024, at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich.

Laurie attended Taft High School, the alma mater of Grease authors, and later worked as an Aquatic Director at the Leaning Tower YMCA in Niles, IL. She was also an active volunteer with the PTA and at Onahan Grade School.

Her passions included creating art, gardening, swimming, scuba diving, reading, and teaching adults who feared the water how to swim. In recent years, her greatest joy came from watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow.

Beloved wife of the late Jerry Guth; loving mother of Brad (Lori) and Lee Ann (Fred); cherished grandmother of Matthew (Sarah) and Lauren (Ray); and adored great-grandmother of Nathan, Elena, Ford, and Lillian. She was the dear sister of the late Dee Deno, Don Papendick, and Jack Schaus.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society in Laurie’s memory would be appreciated.
