Visitation for Lawrence F. “Larry” Galvan, 72, of Arlington Heights, will be held Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine. A private family burial will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Lawrence was born June 20, 1952, in Chicago, and he passed away June 23, 2024, in Libertyville.
Lawrence was the beloved husband of Tarissa C. Galvan (nee Bootz); loving father of Jason (Kristen) Galvan, Katherine (Todd) Paluch and Sara (Matthew) Gaynor; loving grandfather of Shelby, Emily, Addison, Abigail, Owen and Meredith; dear son of the late Frank and Lorraine (nee Schultz) Galvan; fond brother of Sandra Gniot.
Larry was a 1971 graduate of Maine East High School. He enlisted in the National Guard in 1972 and was a member for six years. He was employed by Dominick’s as a meat cutter for 38 years. Larry was always doing some home improvement project, some small and some big, and always was willing to help others out with their projects. He enjoyed camping, sailing, and especially woodworking, making many benches, as well as cabinetry and fine furniture pieces and a life size set of Lincoln Logs for his grandson. He always enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
