Visitation for Lee Daniel Keenan, 55, of Lake Zurich IL, will be held Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 11:15 AM to 12:45 PM. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 33 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich. A Funeral Mass will be said at 1:00 PM. Lee will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
Lee passed away peacefully at home on October 20, 2024, surrounded by his loving family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born on March 15, 1969, Lee grew up in Elk Grove Village, and later attended college at Illinois State University. Always the heart and soul of the party wherever he went, Lee easily and always made friends at every turn.
On March 1, 1997, Lee married Kathy (McCourt) - “my bride!” as he would lovingly refer to her. Together Lee and Kathy made their home on Harvest Drive in Lake Zurich, where together they raised their three beautiful daughters – Kelsey, Allie and Katie.
For the past 14+ years, Lee served as Vice President of Construction Sales for Mariani Landscape. More than simply a business, Mariani became an extended family for the Keenans, and their support through these very difficult times has been extraordinary.
Simply put, Lee was a lover of life – he lived for quality time with Kathy and his family, neighborhood block parties, rounds of golf with his buddies, biking / cycling with his friends, and of course the always well-planned music playlists that inevitably accompanied any and every event. His zest for life and love of family and his wide circle of friends will most certainly be missed by all who knew him. As his family so eloquently stated, we should all be so fortunate to live like Lee, to laugh like Lee, and to love like Lee.
Lee was preceded in death by his mother, Joan (Blake) Chase, and stepfather, Vern Chase. In addition to Kathy and the girls, Lee is also survived by his father, Tom Keenan of Pompano, FL, his sister, Pam (Ron) Empting of North St. Paul, MN, his brother, Jeff (Chrisy) Keenan of Panama City, FL, nieces and nephews, Stephanie (Matt), Brittany, Blake (Teresa), Jake (Nicole) and Nicki, and great nephew & nieces, Addison, Ella, Chase, Charlotte and Opal.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation, a cause close to Lee’s heart.
