Visitation for Leo J. Cannon, 88, of Palatine, IL will be on Thursday, March 11, 2021 from 9:00 am – 11:00 am at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine. Prayer Service will then start at 11:00 am. An Entombment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.
Lee was born November 28, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois. He passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at Homestead Acute Care Center in Lexington, KY, after a long struggle with several health issues.
He loved his family, his Chicago Bears and Cubs, and his wife Carole Ann who preceded him in death in 2014. He graduated from Fenwick High School in 1950, received a track scholarship to University of Iowa where he attended for one year, and followed his patriotic duty by enlisting in the Army where he served in the Korean War for two years. He met and married the love of his life, Carole Ann Sanders and they were married shortly after in September of 1956. Through his career as a purchasing agent, he worked for Sinclair Oil Company, Bear Brand Hosiery Company of Chicago, and Federated Foods where he then retired from.
Leo was the beloved husband of Carole Ann; loving father of Susan L. (William) McCamley, Timothy L. (Maureen) Cannon, Cathleen J. (Charles) Gorham; loving grandfather of Megan (Bryan) Hulihee, Christopher Farkas, Kaitlin Ligouri, Jessica Cannon, Kevin Cannon, Lindsey Cannon and the late Brian Cannon; loving great-grandfather of Noah, Owen, and Claire Hulihee, Rune Farkas, Jayden and Logan Cannon; dear son of the late Mary and Leo Cannon; fond younger brother of Hank and Fred Howe.
