Leonard Ellman

Visitation for Leonard Ellman, 96, of Inverness, will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 1:00 PM until the time of the Remembrances, 3:00 PM at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.

Leonard was born in Chicago, IL on December 8, 1921 and passed away at home, peacefully on February 12, 2018 surrounded by his family.  

Leonard was a Veteran of the United States Navy, having been awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.  Leonard, an avid Cubs fan, was a wonderful and loving, husband, father and grandfather and will be missed.  

He is survived by his wife, Darlene Ellman, whom he married January 16, 1966.  He is also survived by his children, Gayla (Clancy) Siko, Terri (Erin) Nightingale, Tina (Todd) Hess; grandchildren, Austin, Connor, Nolan, Gavin, and Jake; sister-in-law, Claudia Bishop; Claudia’s children, Daniel Bishop and Alexis (Tony) Farnetti ; their child, Landon; brother-in-law, Ernest (Joanne) Welles; their child, Justin; and Ernest and Joanne’s granddaughter, Jasmine.
