Lester Knapik

Visitation for Lester Knapik, 66, of Palatine, formerly of Des Plaines, will be held Monday, May 22, 2017, from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine.  Prayers will begin Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. also at the funeral home with a Funeral Mass beginning, 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church, 1201 E. Anderson Drive, Palatine.  The Cemetery location is still to be determined.

Lester was born August 27, 1950 in Krakow, Poland, and passed away, surrounded by his family, Friday, May 19, 2017 at home.

He is the beloved husband of Danuta Knapik (nee Bocwinska); loving father of  Beata (Piotr) Wyszkowski and Anna (Kristofer) Dziejma; loving great-grandfather of Paul, Christopher and Katherine Wyszkowski and Nichole and Daniel Dziejma; fond brother of Adam Knapik and Irena Knapik.

Most of all, Lester’s family meant everything to him.
