Lillian M. Fair

A Memorial Visitation for Lillian M. Fair (Ziegler) will be held Saturday, December 17, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Service, 1:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 200 N. Plum Grove Road, Palatine, IL 60067.

Lillian was born July 18, 1939 in Forest Park to Walter and Margaret Ziegler (Meier).

She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-four years Gerald L. Fair; Charlie “The Cat” Fair, Daughter Jennifer (Ted) Schaefer, and Sister Janet (Pete) Hoffstatter.  Preceded in death by Sister Hedy (John) McQueeney

Lillian’s career expanded fields from nursing, teaching, and health care administration.  Her accomplishments included being President and member of the Northwest Continuity of Care State Board of Directors and a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator.

Her desires to continue learning lead her to complete her high school degree at Stanley High School, followed by a degree in Nursing from West Suburban Hospital in 1960.  She then continued her education receiving a bachelor’s degree in education from the College of St. Francis in 1978.  She then pursued and received her Master of Gerontology from Roosevelt University in 1987.  

Her passions included cooking, gardening, shopping and spending time with friends and family.  We will remember her cream puffs, toffee bars, tomato garden, generosity, and her perpetual smile.
