There will be a Visitation and a Memorial Service to commemorate Linda Rough, age 81, of Lake Zurich, IL, and celebrate her legacy on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Barrington United Methodist Church, 98 Algonquin Road, Barrington from 2:30pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 3:00pm. A private celebration for friends and family will follow.
Linda was born in New Albany, IN on November 6, 1936, the daughter of Mary and Gilbert Radcliff. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at The Solana Deer Park.
She married Don Rough in June of 1959, who preceded her in death in 2008. She moved to Green Bay, WI in 1973 and eventually to Lake Zurich in 1983.
Linda is survived by two sons, Steve (Tammy) of Madison, WI and Tom (Annie) of Lake Zurich; sister Norma (Ralph) Tandowsky of Hilton Head Island, SC, and sister-in-law Regina Goldwag of Costa Mesa, CA. She was the ultimate proud grandmother of Taylor, Alex and Ella of Madison, WI and Mackenzie, Jack and Brian of Hawthorn Woods.
Linda was a very genuine and giving person who brought an eternal smile and happiness to all who knew her. She was sweet, patient and selfless. She excelled at living life in the present, always making others feel welcome. She was a beautiful and fabulous woman with a great outlook on life, and she loved fiercely. She especially loved her grandkids. She holds a special place in the hearts of many. It’s so ironic that a woman with a heart of gold would succumb to heart failure. Upon her passing, as in her life, Linda would want to remind us that there is always a sun above the clouds. And that she is probably already playing bridge in Heaven ☺.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations in memory of Linda Rough to the American Heart Association 208 S. LaSalle, Suite 1500, Chicago, IL 60604 ot click donatenow.heart.org
