Louis A. Sands

Services for Louis Allen Sands, 78, of Palatine, will be private.

He was born October 10, 1941 in Boise, ID and passed away on April 10, 2020 in Palatine, IL.

He is preceded in death by his wife Tamara (nee Zurba) Sands.

Louis is survived by his children, Louis Adam (Heidi) Sands, Sheri (Sam) DiGirolamo, Allison Sands, and his grandchildren Nicholas, Emma, Madelyn, Connor, Natalia and Matthew.

His work years included venture capitalism and Louis also owned his own insurance agency. During this time, he served on the District 15 school board where he eventually served as president.

Louis enjoyed his retirement years spending time with his family, golfing, watching the Cubs and his favorite pastimes which were watching his grandchildren play sports and beating everyone at Jeopardy.

He was a proud member of the Masonic Temple and a Shriner. Louis was raised to the degree of Master Mason on September 14, 2004 at Palatine Lodge number 314 in Palatine, IL; which he was also honored to serve as the master of the lodge.
